8 When we have food and clothing, let us therewith be content. 9 Those who want to be rich fall into temptation and snares, and into many foolish and harmful desires, which drown men in perdition and destruction. 10 For covetousness is the root of all evil, which, when some followed after, they erred from the faith, and tangled themselves with many sorrows.

8 But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.(A) 9 Those who want to get rich(B) fall into temptation and a trap(C) and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money(D) is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith(E) and pierced themselves with many griefs.(F)
