David Made King over All Israel^(A)

11 Then ^(B)all Israel came together to David at Hebron, saying, “Indeed we are your bone and your flesh.

The Mighty Men of David^(A)

¹⁰ Now ^(B)these were the heads of the mighty men whom David had, who strengthened themselves with him in his kingdom, with all Israel, to make him king, according to ^(C)the word of the Lord concerning Israel.

³⁸ All these men of war, who could keep ranks, came to Hebron with a loyal heart, to make David king over all Israel; and all the rest of Israel were of ^(A)one mind to make David king.

The Philistines Defeated^(A)

⁸ Now when the Philistines heard that ^(B)David had been anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to search for David. And David heard of it and went out against them.

³ And David ^(A)gathered all Israel together at Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the Lord to its place, which he had prepared for it.

^28 (A)Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the Lord with shouting and with the sound of the horn, with trumpets and with cymbals, making music with stringed instruments and harps.

David’s Administration^(A)

¹⁴ So David reigned over all Israel, and administered judgment and justice to all his people.

¹⁷ When it was told David, he gathered all Israel, crossed over the Jordan and came upon them, and set up in battle array against them. So when David had set up in battle array against the Syrians, they fought with him.

⁵ Then Joab gave the sum of the number of the people to David. All Israel had one million one hundred thousand men who drew the sword, and Judah had four hundred and seventy thousand men who drew the sword.

⁴ However the Lord God of Israel ^(A)chose me above all the house of my father to be king over Israel forever, for He has chosen ^(B)Judah to be the ruler. And of the house of Judah, ^(C)the house of my father, and ^(D)among the sons of my father, He was pleased with me to make me king over all Israel.
