17 He said, “Please speak to Solomon the king, for he will not refuse you, and ask him to give me Abishag as a wife.” 18 Bathsheba answered, “Very well, I will speak to the king for you.”
19 Bathsheba, therefore, went to King Solomon to speak to him on behalf of Adonijah. The king rose up to meet her and bowed down to her. He sat down on his throne, and had a throne placed for the king’s mother, so that she sat on his right hand.[a]
