12 They made a covenant to obey the Lord, the God of their people. They would obey him with all their heart and soul. 13 All those who wouldn’t obey the Lord, the God of Israel, would be killed. It wouldn’t matter how important they were. It wouldn’t matter whether they were men or women. 14 They made a promise to the Lord. They praised him out loud. They shouted. They blew trumpets and horns.

12 They entered into a covenant(A) to seek the Lord,(B) the God of their ancestors, with all their heart and soul. 13 All who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, were to be put to death,(C) whether small or great, man or woman. 14 They took an oath to the Lord with loud acclamation, with shouting and with trumpets and horns.
