4 He did what was right in the Lord’s sight as his father Amaziah had done. 5 He sought God(A) throughout the lifetime of Zechariah, the teacher of the fear[a](B) of God. During the time that he sought the Lord, God gave him success.(C)
Uzziah’s Exploits
6 Uzziah went out to wage war against the Philistines,(D) and he tore down the wall of Gath, the wall of Jabneh, and the wall of Ashdod. Then he built cities in the vicinity of Ashdod and among the Philistines.

4 He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, just as his father Amaziah had done. 5 He sought God during the days of Zechariah, who instructed him in the fear[a] of God.(A) As long as he sought the Lord, God gave him success.(B)
6 He went to war against the Philistines(C) and broke down the walls of Gath, Jabneh and Ashdod.(D) He then rebuilt towns near Ashdod and elsewhere among the Philistines.
