7 God helped him against the Philistines, the Arabs who inhabited Gur,[a] and the Meunites. 8 The Meunites[b] paid taxes to Uzziah, whose fame spread even to Egypt because he had grown so powerful. 9 He built towers in Jerusalem, at the Corner Gate, the Valley Gate, and at the Angle, and reinforced them.

7 God helped him against the Philistines and against the Arabs(A) who lived in Gur Baal and against the Meunites.(B) 8 The Ammonites(C) brought tribute to Uzziah, and his fame spread as far as the border of Egypt, because he had become very powerful.
9 Uzziah built towers in Jerusalem at the Corner Gate,(D) at the Valley Gate(E) and at the angle of the wall, and he fortified them.
