16 To the one we are the savor of death, unto death, and to the other the savor of life, unto life: [a]and who is sufficient for these things?

17 (A)For we are not as many, which make [b]merchandise of the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God in the sight of God speak we in Christ.

16 To the one we are an aroma that brings death;(A) to the other, an aroma that brings life. And who is equal to such a task?(B) 17 Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit.(C) On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity,(D) as those sent from God.(E)
