4 For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I (A)wrote to you with many tears; not so that you would be made sorrowful, but that you might know the love which I have abundantly for you.

Forgiveness for the Offender
5 If anyone has caused grief,(B) he has not so much grieved me as he has grieved all of you to some extent—not to put it too severely. 6 The punishment(C) inflicted on him by the majority is sufficient.
