¹⁷The Lord and the Spirit are one and the same, and the Lord's Spirit sets us free. ¹⁸^(A) So our faces are not covered. They show the bright glory of the Lord, as the Lord's Spirit makes us more and more like our glorious Lord.

¹⁷Now the Lord is the Spirit,^(A) and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.^(B) ¹⁸And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate^[a]^(C) the Lord’s glory,^(D) are being transformed into his image^(E) with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
