4 For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, (A)but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life. 5 Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also (B)has given us the Spirit as [a]a guarantee.
6 So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord.

4 For while we are in this tent, we groan(A) and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling,(B) so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. 5 Now the one who has fashioned us for this very purpose is God, who has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.(C)
6 Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord.
