Contemporary English Version
6 Love means we do what God tells us. And from the beginning, he told you to love him.
7 Many liars have gone out into the world. These deceitful liars are saying Jesus Christ did not have a truly human body. But they are liars and the enemies of Christ. 8 So be sure not to lose what we[a] have worked for. If you do, you won't be given your full reward.

6 And this is love:(A) that we walk in obedience to his commands.(B) As you have heard from the beginning,(C) his command is that you walk in love.
7 I say this because many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ(D) as coming in the flesh,(E) have gone out into the world.(F) Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist.(G) 8 Watch out that you do not lose what we[a] have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully.(H)
