Joash Assassinated

19 The rest of the events of Joash’s reign, along with all his accomplishments, are written in the Historical Record of Judah’s Kings.(A) 20 Joash’s servants conspired against him and attacked him(B) at Beth-millo(C) on the road that goes down to Silla. 21 It was his servants Jozabad[a] son of Shimeath and Jehozabad son of Shomer who attacked him. He died(D) and they buried him with his ancestors in the city of David, and his son Amaziah became king in his place.(E)

19 As for the other events of the reign of Joash, and all he did, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Judah? 20 His officials(A) conspired against him and assassinated(B) him at Beth Millo,(C) on the road down to Silla. 21 The officials who murdered him were Jozabad son of Shimeath and Jehozabad son of Shomer. He died and was buried with his ancestors in the City of David. And Amaziah his son succeeded him as king.
