3 Azariah did what was right in the Lord’s sight(A) just as his father Amaziah had done. 4 Yet the high places were not taken away; the people continued sacrificing and burning incense on the high places.(B)
5 The Lord afflicted the king, and he had a serious skin disease until the day of his death.(C) He lived in quarantine,[a](D) while Jotham,(E) the king’s son, was over the household governing the people of the land.(F)

3 He did what was right(A) in the eyes of the Lord, just as his father Amaziah had done. 4 The high places, however, were not removed; the people continued to offer sacrifices and burn incense there.
5 The Lord afflicted(B) the king with leprosy[a] until the day he died, and he lived in a separate house.[b](C) Jotham(D) the king’s son had charge of the palace(E) and governed the people of the land.
