2 Ahaz was twenty years old when he began to reign; he reigned for sixteen years in Jerusalem. He did not do what was right in the sight of the Lord his God, as his ancestor David had done, 3 but he walked in the way of the kings of Israel. He even made his son pass through fire, according to the abominable practices of the nations whom the Lord drove out before the people of Israel. 4 He sacrificed and made offerings on the high places, on the hills, and under every green tree.

2 Ahaz was twenty years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem sixteen years. Unlike David his father, he did not do what was right(A) in the eyes of the Lord his God. 3 He followed the ways of the kings of Israel(B) and even sacrificed his son(C) in the fire, engaging in the detestable(D) practices of the nations the Lord had driven out before the Israelites. 4 He offered sacrifices and burned incense(E) at the high places, on the hilltops and under every spreading tree.(F)
