22 ‘Whom have you reproached and blasphemed?
Against whom have you raised your voice,
And lifted up your eyes on high?
Against (A)the Holy One of Israel.
23 (B)By your messengers you have reproached the Lord,
And said: (C)“By the multitude of my chariots

To the limits of Lebanon;
I will cut down its tall cedars

22 Who is it you have ridiculed and blasphemed?(A)
Against whom have you raised your voice
and lifted your eyes in pride?
Against the Holy One(B) of Israel!
23 By your messengers
    you have ridiculed the Lord.
And you have said,(C)
    “With my many chariots(D)

    the finest of its forests.
24 I have dug wells in foreign lands
    and drunk the water there.
With the soles of my feet
I have dried up all the streams of Egypt.”

To its fruitful forest.
25 I have dug and drunk water,
And with the soles of my feet I have dried up
All the brooks of [a]defense.’

And the green herb,
As the grass on the housetops
And grain blighted before it is grown.
