¹⁰ The whole Babylonian army under the commander of the imperial guard broke down the walls^(A) around Jerusalem. ¹¹ Nebuzaradan the commander of the guard carried into exile^(B) the people who remained in the city, along with the rest of the populace and those who had deserted to the king of Babylon.^{(C) 12} But the commander left behind some of the poorest people^(D) of the land to work the vineyards and fields.

⁹ “‘And if the prophet^(A) is enticed^(B) to utter a prophecy, I the Lord have enticed that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand against him and destroy him from among my people Israel.^(C)
