36 So they came back and told him. He said, “This is the word of Adonai, which He spoke by His servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying: ‘In the field of Jezreel will the dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel, 37 and the carcass of Jezebel will be as dung upon the face of the field in the property of Jezreel, so that they will not say, “This was Jezebel.” ’”

36 They went back and told Jehu, who said, “This is the word of the Lord that he spoke through his servant Elijah the Tishbite: On the plot of ground at Jezreel dogs(A) will devour Jezebel’s flesh.[a](B) 37 Jezebel’s body will be like dung(C) on the ground in the plot at Jezreel, so that no one will be able to say, ‘This is Jezebel.’”
