⁷ You are to strike down the house of your master Ahab so that I may avenge the blood shed by the hand of Jezebel—the blood of my servants the prophets and of all the servants of the Lord.^(A)

³⁰ and you say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our ancestors, we wouldn’t have taken part with them in shedding the prophets’ blood.’

⁵⁰ so that this generation^(A) may be held responsible for the blood of all the prophets shed since the foundation of the world^[a](B) —
