16 He speaks about these things in all his letters in which there are some matters that are hard to understand. The untaught and unstable twist them to their own destruction,(A) as they also do with the rest of the Scriptures.

17 Therefore, dear friends, since you know this in advance, be on your guard,(B) so that you are not led away by the error of lawless people and fall from your own stability. 18 But grow in the grace and knowledge(C) of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity.[a](D) Amen.[b]

17 Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard(D) so that you may not be carried away by the error(E) of the lawless(F) and fall from your secure position.(G) 18 But grow in the grace(H) and knowledge(I) of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.(J) To him be glory both now and forever! 16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
