12 For you did it secretly; but I will do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun.’ 13 David said to Nathan, ‘I have sinned against the Lord.’ Nathan said to David, ‘Now the Lord has put away your sin; you shall not die. 14 Nevertheless, because by this deed you have utterly scorned the Lord,[a] the child that is born to you shall die.’

New International Version
12 You did it in secret,(A) but I will do this thing in broad daylight(B) before all Israel.’”
13 Then David said to Nathan, “I have sinned(C) against the Lord.”
Nathan replied, “The Lord has taken away(D) your sin.(E) You are not going to die.(F) 14 But because by doing this you have shown utter contempt for[a] the Lord,(G) the son born to you will die.”
