2 Samuel 12:13-15
Good News Translation
13 “I have sinned against the Lord,” David said.
Nathan replied, “The Lord forgives you; you will not die. 14 But because you have shown such contempt for the Lord in doing this, your child will die.” 15 Then Nathan went home.
David's Son Dies
The Lord caused the child that Uriah's wife had borne to David to become very sick.

New International Version
13 Then David said to Nathan, “I have sinned(A) against the Lord.”
Nathan replied, “The Lord has taken away(B) your sin.(C) You are not going to die.(D) 14 But because by doing this you have shown utter contempt for[a] the Lord,(E) the son born to you will die.”
15 After Nathan had gone home, the Lord struck(F) the child that Uriah’s wife had borne to David, and he became ill.
