7 David sent messengers to Tamar in the palace. They told her, “Go to your brother Amnon’s house and make some food for him.” 8 So Tamar went to her brother Amnon’s house. He was in bed. Tamar took some dough and pressed it together with her hands. She made some special cakes while Amnon watched. Then she baked them. 9 Next she took the pan and took out the cakes for Amnon. But he refused to eat.
He said to his servants, “All of you, leave me alone!” So all his servants left the room.

New International Version
7 David sent word to Tamar at the palace: “Go to the house of your brother Amnon and prepare some food for him.” 8 So Tamar went to the house of her brother Amnon, who was lying down. She took some dough, kneaded it, made the bread in his sight and baked it. 9 Then she took the pan and served him the bread, but he refused to eat.
“Send everyone out of here,”(A) Amnon said. So everyone left him.
