25 And it was when he came from Jerusalem to meet the king, that the king said to him, “(A)Why did you not go with me, Mephibosheth?” 26 So he said, “My lord the king, my servant betrayed me; for your servant said, ‘I will [a]saddle the donkey for myself so that I may ride on it and go with the king,’ (B)since your servant cannot walk. 27 Furthermore, (C)he has slandered your servant to my lord the king; but my lord the king is (D)like the angel of God, therefore do what is good in your sight.

25 When he came from Jerusalem to meet the king, the king asked him, “Why didn’t you go with me,(A) Mephibosheth?”
26 He said, “My lord the king, since I your servant am lame,(B) I said, ‘I will have my donkey saddled and will ride on it, so I can go with the king.’ But Ziba(C) my servant betrayed me. 27 And he has slandered your servant to my lord the king. My lord the king is like an angel(D) of God; so do whatever you wish.
