6 But when they came to the (A)threshing floor of Nacon, Uzzah (B)reached out toward the ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen nearly upset it. 7 And the anger of the Lord burned against Uzzah, and (C)God struck him down there for [a]his irreverence; and he died there by the ark of God. 8 David became angry because [b]of the Lord’s outburst against Uzzah, and that place is called [c]Perez-uzzah to this day.

6 When they came to the threshing floor of Nakon, Uzzah reached out and took hold of(A) the ark of God, because the oxen stumbled. 7 The Lord’s anger burned against Uzzah because of his irreverent act;(B) therefore God struck him down,(C) and he died there beside the ark of God.
8 Then David was angry because the Lord’s wrath(D) had broken out against Uzzah, and to this day that place is called Perez Uzzah.[a](E)
