⁷Then the anger of the Lord was aroused against Uzzah, and God struck him there for his ^[a]error; and he died there by the ark of God.

⁷The Lord’s anger burned against Uzzah because of his irreverent act;^(A) therefore God struck him down,^(B) and he died there beside the ark of God.

⁸And David became angry because of the Lord’s outbreak against Uzzah; and he called the name of the place ^[a]Perez Uzzah to this day.

⁸Then David was angry because the Lord’s wrath^(A) had broken out against Uzzah, and to this day that place is called Perez Uzzah.^[a]^(B)
