2 Samuel 8:12-14
Revised Standard Version
12 from Edom, Moab, the Ammonites, the Philistines, Am′alek, and from the spoil of Hadade′zer the son of Rehob, king of Zobah.
13 And David won a name for himself. When he returned, he slew eighteen thousand E′domites[a] in the Valley of Salt. 14 And he put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom he put garrisons, and all the E′domites became David’s servants. And the Lord gave victory to David wherever he went.

New International Version
12 Edom[a](A) and Moab,(B) the Ammonites(C) and the Philistines,(D) and Amalek.(E) He also dedicated the plunder taken from Hadadezer son of Rehob, king of Zobah.
13 And David became famous(F) after he returned from striking down eighteen thousand Edomites[b] in the Valley of Salt.(G)
14 He put garrisons throughout Edom, and all the Edomites(H) became subject to David.(I) The Lord gave David victory(J) wherever he went.(K)
