2 Samuel 8:6-8
American Standard Version
6 Then David put garrisons in [a]Syria of Damascus; and [b]the Syrians became servants to David, and brought tribute. And Jehovah [c]gave victory to David whithersoever he went. 7 And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem. 8 And from [d]Betah and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, king David took exceeding much brass.

New International Version
6 He put garrisons(A) in the Aramean kingdom of Damascus, and the Arameans became subject(B) to him and brought tribute. The Lord gave David victory wherever he went.(C)
7 David took the gold shields(D) that belonged to the officers of Hadadezer and brought them to Jerusalem. 8 From Tebah[a] and Berothai,(E) towns that belonged to Hadadezer, King David took a great quantity of bronze.
