New American Standard Bible
6 Then David put garrisons among the Arameans of Damascus, and (A)the Arameans became servants to David, bringing tribute. And (B)the Lord helped David wherever he went. 7 David took the shields of gold which were [a]carried by the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem. 8 And from [b]Betah and (C)Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, King David took a very large amount of bronze.

New International Version
6 He put garrisons(A) in the Aramean kingdom of Damascus, and the Arameans became subject(B) to him and brought tribute. The Lord gave David victory wherever he went.(C)
7 David took the gold shields(D) that belonged to the officers of Hadadezer and brought them to Jerusalem. 8 From Tebah[a] and Berothai,(E) towns that belonged to Hadadezer, King David took a great quantity of bronze.
