18 who have strayed concerning the truth, (A)saying that the resurrection is already past; and they overthrow the faith of some. 19 Nevertheless (B)the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord (C)knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of [a]Christ depart from iniquity.”
20 But in a great house there are not only (D)vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor.

They say that the resurrection has already taken place,(A) and they destroy the faith of some.(B) 19 Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm,(C) sealed with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,”(D) and, “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord(E) must turn away from wickedness.”
20 In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for special purposes and some for common use.(F)
