8 We want you to know, brothers, about the grace of God granted to the churches^(A) of Macedonia:^{(B) 2} During a severe testing by affliction, their abundance of joy and their deep poverty overflowed into the wealth of their generosity.^(C)

⁹ When I was present with you and in need, I did not burden anyone, for the brothers who came from Macedonia^(A) supplied my needs.^(B) I have kept myself, and will keep myself, from burdening you in any way.
