¹⁴ And they buried the bones of Saul and his son Jonathan in the land of Benjamin in ^(A)Zela, in the tomb of Kish his father. And they did all that the king commanded. And after that ^(B)God responded to the plea for the land.

²⁵ And David built there an altar to the Lord and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. ^(A)So the Lord responded to the plea for the land, and the plague was averted from Israel.

²⁰ And when they prevailed^[a] over them, the Hagrites and all who were with them were given into their hands, ^(A)for they cried out to God in the battle, and he granted their urgent plea ^(B)because they trusted in him.

¹³ He prayed to him, and ^(A)God was moved by his entreaty and heard his plea and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. ^(B)Then Manasseh knew that the Lord was God.

²³ So we fasted and implored our God for this, and he listened to our entreaty.
