32 When I was in Damascus, the ·governor [L ethnarch; C a title for a minor ruler] under King Aretas wanted to arrest me, so he put guards around the city. 33 But ·my friends lowered me [L I was lowered] in a basket through ·a hole [or window] in the city wall. So I escaped from ·the governor [L his hands].

32 In Damascus the governor under King Aretas had the city of the Damascenes guarded in order to arrest me.(A) 33 But I was lowered in a basket from a window in the wall and slipped through his hands.(B)
