Cornelius Calls for Peter

10 At Caesarea^(A) there was a man named Cornelius, a centurion in what was known as the Italian Regiment.

²⁴ The following day he arrived in Caesarea.^(A) Cornelius was expecting them and had called together his relatives and close friends.

¹⁹ After Herod had a thorough search made for him and did not find him, he cross-examined the guards and ordered that they be executed.^(A)

Herod’s Death

Then Herod went from Judea to Caesarea^(B) and stayed there.

⁸ Leaving the next day, we reached Caesarea^(A) and stayed at the house of Philip^(B) the evangelist,^(C) one of the Seven.

¹⁶ Some of the disciples from Caesarea^(A) accompanied us and brought us to the home of Mnason, where we were to stay. He was a man from Cyprus^(B) and one of the early disciples.

Paul Transferred to Caesarea

²³ Then he called two of his centurions and ordered them, “Get ready a detachment of two hundred soldiers, seventy horsemen and two hundred spearmen^[a] to go to Caesarea^(A) at nine tonight.^(B)

³³ When the cavalry^(A) arrived in Caesarea,^(B) they delivered the letter to the governor^(C) and handed Paul over to him.

Paul’s Trial Before Festus

25 Three days after arriving in the province, Festus^(A) went up from Caesarea^(B) to Jerusalem,

⁴ Festus answered, “Paul is being held^(A) at Caesarea,^(B) and I myself am going there soon.

⁶ After spending eight or ten days with them, Festus went down to Caesarea. The next day he convened the court^(A) and ordered that Paul be brought before him.^(B)
