29 Therefore I came to you, without saying no, as soon as I was sent for. I ask therefore, why have you sent for me?
30 And Cornelius said, Four days ago now I had been fasting, and at the ninth hour I was praying in my house. And behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing, 31 and said, Cornelius, your prayer has been heard, and your alms-deeds are remembered in the sight of God.

29 So when I was sent for, I came without raising any objection. May I ask why you sent for me?”
30 Cornelius answered: “Three days ago I was in my house praying at this hour, at three in the afternoon. Suddenly a man in shining clothes(A) stood before me 31 and said, ‘Cornelius, God has heard your prayer and remembered your gifts to the poor.
