16 Peter, however, kept on knocking, and when they opened the door and saw him, they were astounded.
17 Motioning to them with his hand(A) to be silent, he explained to them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. “Report these things to James[a](B) and the brothers,” he said. Then he departed and went to a different place.
18 At daylight, there was a great commotion[b] among the soldiers as to what could have become of Peter.

16 But Peter kept on knocking, and when they opened the door and saw him, they were astonished. 17 Peter motioned with his hand(A) for them to be quiet and described how the Lord had brought him out of prison. “Tell James(B) and the other brothers and sisters(C) about this,” he said, and then he left for another place.
18 In the morning, there was no small commotion among the soldiers as to what had become of Peter.
