(A)But the Jews (B)were jealous, and taking (C)some wicked men of the rabble, they formed a mob, set the city in an uproar, and attacked the house of Jason, seeking to bring them out to the crowd. And when they could not find them, (D)they dragged Jason and some of the brothers before the city authorities, shouting, “These men who have turned the world upside down have come here also, and Jason has received them, and they are all acting against (E)the decrees of Caesar, saying that there is (F)another king, Jesus.” And the people and the city authorities were disturbed when they heard these things. And when they had taken money as security from Jason and the rest, they let them go.

10 (G)The brothers[a] immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea, and when they arrived they (H)went into the Jewish synagogue.

But other Jews were jealous; so they rounded up some bad characters from the marketplace, formed a mob and started a riot in the city.(A) They rushed to Jason’s(B) house in search of Paul and Silas in order to bring them out to the crowd.[a] But when they did not find them, they dragged(C) Jason and some other believers(D) before the city officials, shouting: “These men who have caused trouble all over the world(E) have now come here,(F) and Jason has welcomed them into his house. They are all defying Caesar’s decrees, saying that there is another king, one called Jesus.”(G) When they heard this, the crowd and the city officials were thrown into turmoil. Then they made Jason(H) and the others post bond and let them go.

In Berea

10 As soon as it was night, the believers sent Paul and Silas(I) away to Berea.(J) On arriving there, they went to the Jewish synagogue.(K)
