17 So they all seized Sosthenes, the ruler of the synagogue, and[a] began beating[b] him[c] in front of the judgment seat. And none of these things was a concern to Gallio.
Paul Returns to Antioch in Syria
18 So Paul, after[d] remaining many days longer, said farewell to the brothers and[e] sailed away to Syria, and with him Priscilla and Aquila. He shaved his[f] head at Cenchrea, because he had taken a vow. 19 So they arrived at Ephesus, and those he left behind there, but he himself entered into the synagogue and[g] discussed with the Jews.

New International Version
17 Then the crowd there turned on Sosthenes(A) the synagogue leader(B) and beat him in front of the proconsul; and Gallio showed no concern whatever.
Priscilla, Aquila and Apollos
18 Paul stayed on in Corinth for some time. Then he left the brothers and sisters(C) and sailed for Syria,(D) accompanied by Priscilla and Aquila.(E) Before he sailed, he had his hair cut off at Cenchreae(F) because of a vow he had taken.(G) 19 They arrived at Ephesus,(H) where Paul left Priscilla and Aquila. He himself went into the synagogue and reasoned with the Jews.
