Riots in Ephesus

²¹ Now after these things were finished, Paul purposed in the ^[a]Spirit to ^(A)go to Jerusalem ^(B)after he had passed through ^(C)Macedonia and ^(D)Achaia, saying, “After I have been there, ^(E)I must also see Rome.”

² And when he had gone through those districts and had given them much exhortation, he came to Greece.

³⁴ If anyone is ^(A)hungry, let him eat ^(B)at home, so that you will not come together for judgment. The remaining matters I will ^(C)direct ^(D)when I come.

⁵ But I ^(A)will come to you after I go through ^(B)Macedonia, for I ^(C)am going through Macedonia; ⁶ and perhaps I will stay with you, or even spend the winter, so that you may ^(D)send me on my way wherever I may go. ⁷ For I do not wish to see you now ^(E)just in passing, for I hope to remain with you for some time, ^(F)if the Lord permits. ⁸ But I will remain in ^(G)Ephesus until ^(H)Pentecost, ⁹ for a ^(I)wide and effective door has opened to me, and ^(J)there are many adversaries.

¹⁰ Now if ^(K)Timothy comes, take care that he is with you without fear, for he is doing ^(L)the Lord’s work, as I also am. ^11 (M)So let no one despise him. But ^(N)send him on his way ^(O)in peace, so that he may come to me, for I expect him with the brothers.

¹² Now concerning ^(P)Apollos our brother, I encouraged him greatly to come to you with the brothers, and it was not at all his desire to come now, but he will come when he has opportunity.

Final Instructions and Greetings

^13 (Q)Be watchful, ^(R)stand firm in the faith, ^(S)act like men, ^(T)be strong. ¹⁴ Let all that you do be done ^(U)in love.

¹⁵ Now I exhort you, brothers (you know the ^(V)household of Stephanas, that ^[a]they were the ^(W)first fruits of ^(X)Achaia, and that they have devoted themselves for ^(Y)service to ^(Z)the saints), ¹⁶ that ^(AA)you also be in subjection to such men and to everyone who helps in the work and labors. ¹⁷ And I rejoice over the ^[b](AB)coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus, because they have ^[c]supplied ^(AC)what was lacking on your part. ¹⁸ For they ^(AD)have refreshed my spirit and yours. Therefore ^(AE)recognize such men.

¹⁹ The churches of ^(AF)Asia greet you. ^(AG)Aquila and Prisca greet you heartily in the Lord, with ^(AH)the church that is in their house. ²⁰ All the brothers greet you. ^(AI)Greet one another with a holy kiss.

²¹ The greeting is in ^(AJ)my own hand—^[d]Paul. ²² If anyone does not love the Lord, he is to be ^[e](AK)accursed. ^[f](AL)Maranatha. ^23 (AM)The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you. ²⁴ My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen.

Or what I purpose, do I purpose ^(F)according to the flesh, so that with me there will be yes, yes and no, no at the same time? ¹⁸ But as ^(G)God is faithful, ^(H)our word to you is not yes and no. ¹⁹ For ^(I)the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us—by me and ^(J)Silvanus and ^(K)Timothy—was not yes and no, but has become yes ^(L)in Him. ²⁰ For ^(M)as many as are the promises of God, ^(N)in Him they are yes. Therefore also through Him is ^(O)our Amen to the glory of God through us. ²¹ Now He who ^(P)establishes us with you in Christ and ^(Q)anointed us is God, ²² who also ^(R)sealed us and ^(S)gave the ^[d]pledge of the Spirit in our hearts.

²³ But ^(T)I call God as witness ^[e]to my soul, that ^(U)to spare you I did not come again to ^(V)Corinth. ²⁴ Not that we ^(W)lord it over your faith, but are workers with you for your joy; for in your faith you are ^(X)standing firm.
