12 When day came, certain of the Jews gathered themselves together and made a vow, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul. 13 There were about forty who conspired this together. 14 And they went to the chief priests and elders and said, We have bound ourselves with a vow that we will eat nothing until we have slain Paul.

The Plot to Kill Paul
12 The next morning some Jews formed a conspiracy(A) and bound themselves with an oath not to eat or drink until they had killed Paul.(B) 13 More than forty men were involved in this plot. 14 They went to the chief priests and the elders and said, “We have taken a solemn oath not to eat anything until we have killed Paul.(C)
