26 I, Claudius Lysias, am writing this letter.

I am sending it to His Excellency, Governor Felix.

Greetings.

27 The Jews grabbed Paul. They were about to kill him. But I came with my soldiers and saved him. I had learned that he is a Roman citizen.

27 This man was seized by the Jews and they were about to kill him,(C) but I came with my troops and rescued him,(D) for I had learned that he is a Roman citizen.(E)
