17 Now after several years, I came to bring tzedakah to my country for the poor and to present offerings. 18 As I was doing this, they found me in the Temple, having been purified—without any crowd or uproar. 19 But there were some Jewish people from Asia, who ought to be here before you to press charges if they have anything against me.

17 “After an absence of several years, I came to Jerusalem to bring my people gifts for the poor(A) and to present offerings. 18 I was ceremonially clean(B) when they found me in the temple courts doing this.
