3 especially since you are an expert in all the Jewish customs and controversies. Therefore I beg you to listen to me patiently.
4 “All the Jews know my way of life from my youth, which was spent from the beginning among my own nation and in Jerusalem.(A) 5 They had previously known me for quite some time, if they were willing to testify, that according to the strictest party of our religion I lived as a Pharisee.(B)

3 and especially so because you are well acquainted with all the Jewish customs(A) and controversies.(B) Therefore, I beg you to listen to me patiently.
4 “The Jewish people all know the way I have lived ever since I was a child,(C) from the beginning of my life in my own country, and also in Jerusalem. 5 They have known me for a long time(D) and can testify, if they are willing, that I conformed to the strictest sect(E) of our religion, living as a Pharisee.(F)
