25 (A)By means of the Holy Spirit you spoke through our ancestor David, your servant, when he said,
‘Why were the Gentiles furious;
why did people make their useless plots?
26 The kings of the earth prepared themselves,
and the rulers met together
against the Lord and his Messiah.’
27 (B)For indeed Herod and Pontius Pilate met together in this city with the Gentiles and the people of Israel against Jesus, your holy Servant, whom you made Messiah.

25 You spoke by the Holy Spirit through the mouth of your servant, our father David:(A)
“‘Why do the nations rage
and the peoples plot in vain?
26 The kings of the earth rise up
and the rulers band together
against the Lord
and against his anointed one.[a]’[b](B)
27 Indeed Herod(C) and Pontius Pilate(D) met together with the Gentiles and the people of Israel in this city to conspire against your holy servant Jesus,(E) whom you anointed.
