47 But it was Solomon who built a house for Him.(A)
48 However, the Most High does not dwell in houses and temples made with hands; as the prophet says,(B)
49 Heaven [is] My throne, and earth the footstool for My feet. What [kind of] house can you build for Me, says the Lord, or what is the place in which I can rest?

49 “‘Heaven is my throne,
and the earth is my footstool.(D)
What kind of house will you build for me?
says the Lord.
Or where will my resting place be?
