But God spake thus, that his (A)seed should be a sojourner in a strange land: and that they should keep it in bondage, and entreat it evil [a]four hundred years.

But the nation to whom they shall be in bondage, will I judge, saith God: and after that, they shall come forth and serve me in this place.

(B)He gave him also the covenant of circumcision: and to Abraham begat(C)Isaac, and circumcised him the eighth day: and Isaac begat (D)Jacob, and Jacob the twelve (E)Patriarchs.
