⁴⁶ Every day they devoted themselves to meeting together in the temple area and to breaking bread in their homes. They ate their meals with exultation and sincerity of heart,

²⁰ “Go and take your place in the temple area, and tell the people everything about this life.” ²¹ When they heard this, they went to the temple early in the morning and taught. When the high priest and his companions arrived, they convened the Sanhedrin, the full senate of the Israelites, and sent to the jail to have them brought in.

²⁵ Then someone came in and reported to them, “The men whom you put in prison are in the temple area and are teaching the people.”

³⁵ Then Philip opened his mouth and, beginning with this scripture passage, he proclaimed Jesus to him.

³ expounding and demonstrating that the Messiah had to suffer and rise from the dead, and that “This is the Messiah, Jesus, whom I proclaim to you.”^(A)

⁵ When Silas and Timothy came down from Macedonia, Paul began to occupy himself totally with preaching the word, testifying to the Jews that the Messiah was Jesus.

²⁸ He vigorously refuted the Jews in public, establishing from the scriptures that the Messiah is Jesus.

⁴ Paul then said, “John baptized with a baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in the one who was to come after him, that is, in Jesus.”^{(A) 5} When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
