²² But Saul grew more capable and kept confounding the Jews who lived in Damascus by proving that this One is the Messiah.

² As usual, Paul went to the synagogue, and on three Sabbath days reasoned with them from the Scriptures,^{(A) 3} explaining and showing that the Messiah had to suffer and rise from the dead: “This Jesus I am proclaiming to you is the Messiah.”^(B)

⁵ When Silas and Timothy came down from Macedonia, Paul was occupied with preaching the message^[a] and solemnly testified to the Jews that Jesus is the Messiah.^(A)
