Amos 1:4-6
American Standard Version

4 But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, and it shall devour the palaces of Ben-hadad. 5 And I will break the bar of Damascus, and cut off [a]the inhabitant from the valley of [b]Aven, and him that holdeth the sceptre from [c]the house of Eden; and the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir, saith Jehovah.

6 Thus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of Gaza, yea, for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they carried away captive [d]the whole people, to deliver them up to Edom.

    that will consume the fortresses(C) of Ben-Hadad.(D)
5 I will break down the gate(E) of Damascus;
    I will destroy the king who is in[a] the Valley of Aven[b]
and the one who holds the scepter in Beth Eden.(F)
    The people of Aram will go into exile to Kir,(G)”
says the Lord.(H)

6 This is what the Lord says:

“For three sins of Gaza,(I)
    even for four, I will not relent.(J)
Because she took captive whole communities
    and sold them to Edom,(K)
