6 If a (A)trumpet is blown in a city, will the people not tremble?
If a (B)disaster occurs in a city, has the Lord not brought it about?
7 [a]Certainly the Lord [b]God does nothing
Unless He (C)reveals His secret plan
To His servants the prophets.
8 A (D)lion has roared! Who will not fear?
The (E)Lord God has spoken! (F)Who can do anything but prophesy?

    do not the people tremble?

    has not the Lord caused it?(C)

7 Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing
    without revealing his plan(D)
    to his servants the prophets.(E)

8 The lion(F) has roared(G)—
    who will not fear?
The Sovereign Lord has spoken—
    who can but prophesy?(H)
