Amos 5:19-21
Legacy Standard Bible

19 As when a man (A)flees from a lion
And a bear meets him;
[a]Or he goes home, leans his hand against the wall,
And a snake bites him.
20 Will not the day of Yahweh be (B)darkness instead of light,
Even thick darkness with no brightness in it?

21 “I hate, I (C)reject your feasts,
Nor do I [b](D)delight in your solemn assemblies.

    and rested his hand on the wall
    only to have a snake bite him.(B)
20 Will not the day of the Lord be darkness,(C) not light—
    pitch-dark, without a ray of brightness?(D)

21 “I hate,(E) I despise your religious festivals;(F)
    your assemblies(G) are a stench to me.
